The Governor’s stay-at-home order has left me living in something of a bubble. I talk to far fewer people each day than I did in February. I see even fewer. I am far and away my chief companion on any given day, which can make it easy to turn all my thoughts back to me.
It’s good to remember that life doesn’t stop at my front door. There is a world beyond my bubble. There are people beyond our borders and God calls us to think of them too. More specifically, he calls us to pray for them – and our prayers are especially valuable in times like this. Our lives aren’t the only ones that have been disrupted in the past few months. Communities around the globe are feeling it too.
The Coronavirus has presented special challenges to missionaries who are serving overseas. Missionaries have needed to come off the field, while other missionaries who were on home assignment are unsure when they’ll be allowed to return to the people they serve.
Michael and Cathalain Carter are among the MTW missionaries that we support in Japan. They sent me this wonderful video update about their ministry in Nagoya. Grace has a long history of supporting missions in Japan, so many of you are aware of how difficult it is to share the gospel there. However, God continues to move among the Japanese!
Please take some time this week to pray for our missionaries. You can find a full list of the missionaries that we support here, along with the most recent updates that we have from them.
