Times like these require a bit more creativity. We can’t do things the way we’re used to doing them, but that doesn’t mean that everything needs to grind to a halt. Our mission of discipleship through relationship goes on – but now it’s at a safe distance of at least six feet away.
The church is still here as a resource for your spiritual growth. So, to that end, we’ve come up with something we’re calling the Resource Box. What the name lacks in creativity, the Box makes up for in function. We’re putting the Resource Box on one of the benches outside the church and packing it with things you may find useful.
1. We’ve been sending you lots of things by email over the past few weeks. But, if you’re like me, you don’t have a printer at home. We’re going to put some printed copies of everything in the Resource Box so that you can pick them up. That includes the bulletin, the Children’s bulletin, and the Children’s lesson.
2. The Resource Box will also have some other items to help you make the most of your time at home. We usually have copies of By Faith and Tabletalk available in the foyer for you to pick up before or after service. Now we’ll have them in the box.
3. This is a good time to read a good Christian book. We’re also going to pick a few titles from the library for you to check out and post our picks on Facebook each week. If you have book requests, please let Candy know! She loves books and will be happy to leave what we have in the box for you.
When you’re out getting groceries or running other errands, feel free to drop by and give it a look. Take whatever’s useful to you. Like all our social distancing efforts, the Resource Box is a work in progress so please let us know if you think of things we can put in it that would be useful to you and your family.
