Word of the Week: Thrive
On Sunday, DJ Carter preached the sixth commandment: you shall not murder. DJ is the President of ThriVe, which was formerly known as the Pregnancy Centers of Central Virginia, so it was fitting for him to join us on this Sunday. There are many ways that our society devalues human life, but one of the most obvious is through the growth and normalization of the abortion industry.
Grace supports ThriVe in their work to honor the sixth commandment. As DJ said, it goes way beyond not committing murder. A Christian commitment to life means being concerned about human flourishing at every single stage of life. ThriVe’s goal isn’t to trick or manipulate women out of an abortion. Their goal is to serve women in a tough situation by offering resources and support – whether it’s counseling to women who are considering an abortion, pregnancy testing, post-abortion counseling, or helping to care for newborns all the way through the first two years.
