We believe that every person is called to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship begins when we repent, turning away from our sins, and trust in the work and character of Jesus Christ alone for salvation. In Scripture, God promises when we simply believe that Jesus fully obeyed God’s law, that He paid the penalty for our sins with His death, and that He rose once again to life, God credits us with the righteousness, obedience, and faithfulness Christ lived out and gives us eternal life. As a result, we are welcomed as His sons and daughters and are filled with His personal presence. This is the good news of the gospel!
The following prayer, if prayed with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, can be a starting point for this new relationship:
Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever before believed, but, through You, I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment and forgiving me. I turn from my sins - my old life of living for myself - and receive you as Savior.
John 3:16 (NIV) "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Romans 3:21-24 (NLT) But now God has shown us a different way of being right in His sight - not by obeying the law but by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago. We are made right in God's sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet now God in His gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.”
