As we draw near to our 24 hours of prayer on September 9th and 10th, I want to give you suggestions on how you can pray for the GCC, both for its individuals and families and also for our life and ministry together.

For individuals and families, pray for:

• A deepening relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
• Wisdom and guidance, in both daily choices as well as more significant ones, such as career changes and life transitions
• Strength to resist temptation
• Grace to handle disagreements with humility and kindness
• A spirit of forgiveness
• Strong marriages of love and respect
• Wisdom in parenting
• Physical and mental health
• Protection
• Financial provision

For the church, pray for:

• Pastors, elders, and deacons to be men of integrity and to lead with wisdom from above, not the wisdom of the world
• The staff to find joy in their work and to use their gifts for God’s glory and the church’s good
• Unity among the members as we come from many different backgrounds, ages, and perspectives
• Deep relationships among the members, moving beyond the superficial
• A culture of discipleship where we encourage one another in our daily lives to greater faithfulness
• Faithful preaching that is true to God’s word and empowered by the Spirit
• Hearts open to receive the words of life
• The music team as they lead us in worship each Sunday
• Boldness to share the gospel with friends and neighbors
• A heart of compassion for the poor, needy, and marginalized in our community
• A spirit of generosity
• The sick
• The grieving

Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7
